Carole,

Thanks for this review. I had not heard of this one and now I have it on my list. Count me among the crowd looking forward to meeting Lewis and worshiping the Lamb that was slain but lives forever.

Hi Carol,
I love what you wrote about living expectantly by grace. Because like a song I learned a long time ago..it was grace that brought me safe this far and grace will lead me home. I wound never have expected God to change my life in the ways that He has ...and only He can. Now I expect God to surprise me all the time ... and He never fails. You're sister in Christ, Terry

It is so true that expectations are a frequent cause of disappointment. But I like what you said, "By grace, we can live expectantly." If are expectations are in Christ's love and grace we will never be disappointed!

Great reminder question, Carole: What keeps me/you/us following Jesus?? And you gave a great answer. I'll be thinking about mine all weekend! HEY -- fun to see you at WTP a couple weeks ago! If I'd been there the whole time, maybe we could have had a longer chat, rather than just a "hi" in passing. . . :-)

Bravo Carol! Good thoughtful post with some timely advice for all of us. Her gospel is false but her influence is real and we would do well to learn from her and season our speech with more salt so that a sin-made-thirsty-world would find the real hope of Christ and his kingdom.

dear Carole. What a wonderful piece of blogging/write! I wonder if this is why Jesus hung out with sinners more often than not, to be 'open' and to strive to understand, instead of being such as you stated 'prejudice'. It's amazing I suppose what acceptance towards another can do by ways of 'open -ness'. I love the word you used 'vulnerable' and the way you spoke of 'listening' to another and being truly present. About me you ask? Well I know that I surely don't have the answers, so I do enjoy remaining 'open' to listening to others, and their ideas, and reasonings and when I really do remain 'open' and 'listening' I find that I often find a treasure or two or a brand new view. Thank you for the insightful write! L, Trish.

Wow. Thanks, Carole, for taking the time to do the extra research on this word, "open."

I wonder now if I'm more open with customers at work than my husband. Oops!

Eye contact and feedback are helpful to let a person know you are engaged in the moment with them.

I love the three ways of openness the ladies taught at the conference.

Blessings,
Jen

Dear Carole,
Thank you for sharing♥
We all need to be reminded of our purpose here and it reminds me of the scripture in 1st John 2:6 -Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did and Jesus was always about his Fathers business-My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. John 4:34
I pray God help us to stay open and focused to continue thinking "Lost" and preaching the power of the cross to a lost and dying world that needs to know that Jesus Christ is our hope.
